Wenlo - The Way of the Serpent : A Raid and Mythic+ Build for Midnight Mistweaver Monk

Hello everyone!

Being a main Mistweaver Monk since Mists of Pandaria, raiding on Mythic difficulty each expansion and achieving multiple Cutting Edge titles, I decided to create a macro to help disabled players, newcomers to the class, or any healer Monk who wants to improve their performance in general with a build that delivers competitive results for high-end content.

(Link to my other Mistweaver Build : Wenlo - The Way of the Crane: A Raid and Mythic+ Build for Midnight Mistweaver Monk

And from the old season Wenlo The Master of Harmony Mistweaver Build / Wenlo, the Chi-Ji Raid and Mythic+ Build The War Within Mistweaver Monk (Updated for Season 3) )

This build focuses on the Way of the Serpent playstyle, which is centered around HoT-based healing. The goal is to ramp by spreading your heals across as many targets as possible, then convert that setup into a large burst healing phase.

What this build essentially does is put almost your entire Mistweaver rotation onto a single button. The only healing cooldowns you’ll need to manage manually are major abilities such as Revival, Life Cocoon, Invoke Yu’lon, and Celestial Conduit.

The sequence works as follows: cast Rushing Wind Kick and Thunder Focus Tea on cooldown, then spread your Renewing Mist charges, followed by Soothing Mist, Enveloping Mist, and Vivify X2.

For this build, Celestial Conduit is usually the recommended Hero Talent choice. However, Harmony can also be a strong and playable alternative, thanks to the additional healing from Harmonic Surge and the extra healing on Vivify and Sheilun’s Gift, using your Vitality stacks as a buffer.

Added a Video of me testing the sequence on an +21 Market

Hi , thank you for this awesome macro , what build do you use in the +21 market heal video ? I try the 2nd build above but it didn’t use any dps skill like you did in the video , but the heal worked fine. Also I run out of mana really quick .

Hey Brayden, thanks for the feedback! I used a variant of the first build with Chi-Ji instead of Yu’lon and master of Harmony instead of Celestial, i added the build. I just updated the second build too, it should be better now and fix the mana issue. Delete the old one, try the new version, and tell me what you think

Thank you so much for your work, Both of your MW macros are amazing but i have to say your Crane version is performing way better for me. I also want to ask what ms should i keep my macro on? I usually play with 130 ms. Thank you again for this. Your macro made me fall in love with healing at last.

hi , please update the talent please, dont know why it said out of date

when you import the first set of code, there is a ‘‘ ``` ’’ that will insert it in. Someone that dont know, will not notice and say its broken.

Thanks for the reminder I forgot to update this one  I love this build too ! It should be really good ye, but until M+ open and I can push really high keys with it to test it in every condition, I can’t say for sure. But during prepatch it was awesome on my +22 dawnbreaker

When do we use vivify, or is that a macro outside of the sequence?

In builds with Sheilun’s Gift, it replaces the Vivify spell so you shouldn’t have to press it, as Sheilun’s Gift is managed by the sequence. Also, with the current tuning, Sheilun’s Gift performs better than Vivify in both raid and M+.

For sequence who don’t use Sheilun’s Gift, Vivify should mostly be used during raid encounters when most of your group is covered by Renewing Mist to get the maximum effect, but the sequence should manage that part as well.

But feel free to press it manually on top of the sequence if you ever feel the need.

Does this go for the chi-ji spec as well? Will it automatically use Shelians gift? Do you need to hover over the name of who you want to use it on or does it auto use it on someone? Between this and the other monk spec which is preferred or better for healing. I’m not sure if it’s due to low level not having fear but even on an 83 dungeon with the chi-ji spec the full automated one I feel it was hard to keep people topped. This could totally be a misplay on myself or the players themselves just standing in things.

Well, if you use a sequence with Sheilun’s Gift, it does. If you pick a sequence without Sheilun’s Gift, it doesn’t. You don’t need to mouse over people; it will heal your whole group each time it’s used.

There isn’t really a preferred option at the moment since the content isn’t challenging enough to require a huge amount of healing. I did my whole M0 tour with the pure DPS spec, and the healing coming from my damage was enough to keep everything alive.

But before that on prepatch i was doing +21-22 key with any build listed on my sequence. So its just a matter of prefered gameplay more than anything else.

You should try the Master of Harmony / Chi-Ji sequence without the Apex talent version if you want both good DPS and good passive healing. The sequence basically plays for you

In the pure caster build, which talent would be best to take away for jade empowerment?

I would say Emperor’s Favor in the Sheilun’s Gift node would be the least noticeable. But keep in mind that Jade Empowerment is sadly rbad now compared to how it was before it’s only useful if you still want to help a bit with DPS when there’s nothing to heal while staying at a safe distance.

I was about to update the pure caster build later tonight, it should run better after the changes
